Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Radiology, this individual will lead a dedicated, growth-oriented team of 9 breast imaging radiologists who value their close, collaborative relationships with each other and members of the multidisciplinary breast care team. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

The ideal candidate will be a committed leader with expertise in all aspects of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, MRI, and multimodality image-guided breast interventions. The Boston Medical Center health system consists of the main hospital, a not-for-profit, 487-bed, academic medical center located in Boston's historic South End, and multiple integrated community health centers. The section chief would join Boston University Radiology Associates, a group of 41 radiologists that provide full-service diagnostic, nuclear and interventional radiology. Being co-located with the Belkin Breast Health Center, the individual would be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides “exceptional care without exception”, the medical center’s motto.

The department welcomes 9 diagnostic radiology residents and 1 integrated interventional radiology resident each year. The breast section also offers a breast fellowship that trains 1-2 fellows annually. Boston Medical Center is currently one of the TMIST sites having recruited over 1600 women to date. Other current research interests include health care disparities, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and contrast-enhanced mammography. The department provides faculty with protected academic time and administrative and biostatistical support. The department also offers an attractive compensation plan with competitive salary and generous benefits.
