POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) seeks an experienced thoracic surgeon to lead thoracic surgical services
- Facilitates program growth, leadership, advanced technology and surgical innovation
- Promotes multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure excellent cancer care and optimal treatment outcomes
- Primary Focus: Minimally Invasive / Robotic Thoracic Surgery; Thoracic Oncology / Lung and Esophageal Cancer
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Board-certified thoracic surgeon
- Fellowship trained in cardiothoracic surgery or thoracic surgical oncology
- Minimally invasive thoracic surgery proficiency required
- 5-8 years’ clinical experience preferred
- Proven track record of successful leadership in a progressive academic medical center or community hospital
- Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials is highly desirable

Over the past decade, Northside has established a reputation of excellence in oncology. Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) has become one of the largest and most respected providers of cancer care in the Southeast with over 15,000 new cancer cases in 2023 and services provided at over 55+ locations. The NHCI is accredited by the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer as an Integrated Network Cancer Program and is recognized for providing high quality, comprehensive cancer care including screening, diagnosis, research, treatment, and support services. In 2014, NHCI was awarded a grant, as one of only 34 community sites nationwide, to lead a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Program (NCORP). The Georgia NCORP is dedicated to providing patients throughout the state with access to clinical trials while remaining in their local community.
