Medical Director of Anesthesia – Shriners Children’s Hospital in Galveston, Texas:
The UTMB Department of Anesthesiology seeks a highly motivated board-certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist to serve as the Medical Director of Anesthesia at Shriners Children’s in Galveston. Clinical activities are expected to be distributed at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children (80%) and at UTMB (20%). The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is a natural leader and change agent, is a proven innovator, and demonstrates the highest principles of clinical care.
Chief of Obstetric Anesthesiology – All UTMB Campuses:
The UTMB OB Anesthesiology Division seeks a Chief of OB Anesthesiology for campus-wide engagement. This leadership role’s administrative responsibilities include organizing clinical services and team deployment, evaluating residents and fellows, and participating in departmental and health system committees. The anticipated effort distribution is 90% clinical and 10% administrative. The Division works closely with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which supports a residency program of nine residents per year (36 total) and a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program of three fellows per year (9 total).
Educational Experience and Requirements
- M.D. or D.O degree and a U.S. Anesthesia Residency.
- Board Certification and Fellowship training in respective fields.
- Valid State of Texas medical license.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- ACLS Certification and up-to-date knowledge and specialty certification through the MOCA program.
Income Package and Community
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with Academic rank, experience, and qualifications. Anesthesia faculty can also earn quality and group incentives, late room/additional call pay, retention incremental pay, and development funds. UTMB offers $0 contribution health insurance plans for individual subscribers and very attractive PTO packages. In addition, UTMB offers an excellent retirement program and relocation allowance.
